Providing Feedback

  • When I provide lesson plan feedback, I try to be as thorough as possible.

  • My process yields what can be an overwhelming experience to the writer.
 
  • My hope is that you will go one comment at a time, taking in the information, evaluating that information, determining what works best in your classroom, and adjusting accordingly.
 
  • I like to be thorough because I have found that with my college students, if I don't correct something in a paper, they will assume it is correct and continue to do it.

  • You are going to put on my hat - a great learning experience that will give you better insight into your own plans.

  • For example, I am a much better goalie now that I have coached for years. Being on the coaching/feedback side allowed me to have better insight into my own play.

  • You are going to be critiquing another of this teacher's lessons. 

  • Go through the original lesson and add comments.

  • The purpose of this activity is to have you
