Lesson Plan Template

  • I have modified the lesson plan template to include what I believe is pertinent to you creating a strong game plan that will set the stage for a strong video.

  • The first section shows the bare bones template - you can download and use directly.

  • The next section is the same template but fleshed out with information to guide you.

  • The third is my lesson example along with a video example of that lesson.

Lesson Plan Example

  • This is the level of detail I expect.

  • It behooves you to think through this level of detail before recording so that you give yourself the best possible chance of success.

  • We don't want you re-recording the same video over and over because you keep messing up due to unpreparedness.

My Example

Activity:
  • What do you notice when reading through my lesson plan and lesson materials?

When reading, please note:
  • Larger goals translated into specific objectives

  • Instructional procedure - detailed and thorough

  • Anticipated time recorded next to each major activity - this is how long I anticipate it takin in the video.

  • The plan includes an opening and a closing (a warm up and wrap up)

  • The plan includes what students can do at home to extend learning (homework)

  • I have prepared "slides" that I will have up on my screen while I talk - this will be a screencast with webcam so that they can see my screen and me simultaneously.

  • My "slides" are plain, that is how I like it - you can do whatever you feel is right for your students.

  • All of my "paper" materials are included directly in the lesson plan document.

Fingerprint Lesson Plan Video

  • Here is the video I did for my lesson plan

  • It took a little longer in real time when recording than I had planned for.

  • Don't feel stuck to the 15 minute limit - it is okay to go over, but you want to keep the videos concise.

  • I would post these photos on Google Classroom as a pdf to go with my video.
Activity:
  • We went through my lesson plan. now we will watch the video.

  • As you watch, jot down some notes.

  • What did you notice?

  • What went well?

  • What ideas did I use that you might be able to use?

  • Where did you notice me messing up and what did I do about it?
