Due Dates - Notes

  • We expect you to submit your work on time.

  • We do NOT expect your work to be perfect, but we do expect you to complete it to the best of your ability.

  • We are all at different stages in our educator training. If you don't understand something, just ask.

  • The whole point of this experience is to learn and grow no matter what place you are starting from.

  • We expect you to follow directions

  • Below are some important due dates and some important submission instructions.

  • It is especially important that you follow these instructions - we won't be in the same physical space, making it harder to adjust small details.

Google Drive Folder Organization

  • File organization will be key, not just for your own organizational purposes, but for mine. I will be posting your videos to a central site. If I cannot follow your organization, then your videos will not be posted.

  • Step 1: organize your personal Google Drive Submission folder like this.
Picture

  • Step 2: organize the inside of each of the above folders accordingly.

  • I need to be able to go into each of your folders and locate exactly the content for each week.

  • You will upload lesson plans and videos into your weekly folders.

  • Step 3: adjust your Google Drive settings so that when you upload, your lesson files are editable.

  • Go to the settings gear, click it, click settings. Check the box that says "convert uploaded files to Google Docs editor format," click done.

  • Checking this box means that when you upload a file, it will convert it so that you and I can make edits. I will be posting comments on your docs, they need to be editable.

  • You can either upload Word docs or create files directly in Google Drive. Just a note that Word has more features and gives you more freedom to adjust margins, make charts, etc.

  • Step 4: title (save) your files correctly.

  • When I say file title, I mean the title you give to your document when you save it (either in Word or directly in Google Drive).

  • I want your file titles to look exactly as I have them here. It is not difficult to follow these directions - I expect you to do it correctly.

  • For docs - I don't need the # I just need the number. For example: Palmieri, Stephanie - Core Subject Lesson Plans Week 1

  • I know the titles are long and have lots of identifying elements, but that is what I need from you.

  • This system should also keep you extremely organized and help you to situate your own filing system.

  • Please note - you can use whatever title you want if you upload to YouTube - I just need the items you submit in Google Drive to be organized in this fashion.

  • If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
