Elective Unit Planning

• Typically, electives are co-taught and as a pair, you submit a unit and weekly lesson plans. Electives typically do not assign homework.

• However, this summer, you will each do your own elective (unless you have a strong reasoning for pairing with another teacher - which you might!).

• While you will not collect homework for this subject, you can certainly present assignments in your videos that students can do at home if they choose.

• You will complete a modified and shortened unit plan for your elective so that you can think through the larger topic and how you might tackle it.

• Remember, the elective is a chance for students and teachers to step outside of traditional subject material.
